Job details
Contributes to thedelivery of departmental goals, through personal effort in own workarea. May modify existing methods and recommend improvements inprocesses that impact operations and may positively affect theresults of the scientific program. Working under minimalsupervision, performs routine and specialized procedures, andassociated responsibilities, as dictated by the workload in therostered area. Solves complex problems and performs a variety oftechnical assignments within broader projects. May modify practicesand techniques in varied situations to perform duties, adjusts andcorrelates data, recognizes discrepancies in results. Assists inprocurement of additional/new funding through general support totechnical proposal preparation and/or presentations. Oversees thework of junior technical staff to ensure that correct proceduresare followed. Provides direction to assure completion ofnon-routine technical tasks and projects. Recommends SOPs andperforms quality control checks. Assists in planning short- andlong-term goals with the Supervisor and performs the research toreach established goals. Stays current with literature in ongoingand proposed research projects. Monitors expenses to ensureadherences to budget. Provides training to new members, researchfellows and graduate students. Write manuscripts and present novelresearch and techniques to research group.
