Desktop Support Administrator
Job details
- The Desktop support administrator shall provide technical assistance and support on computer hardware and Network to ensure smooth IT operations. Constantly monitor the functioning of all IT products and facilitate calibration of required IT products to ensure smooth IT operations.
- Provide support to users includes: installation configuration upgrade troubleshooting; provide firstlevel maintenance of needed IT hardware Network and desktop software applications; provide onsite support in setting up recovery provisions to enable effective IT support to end users.
- Provide effective incident and problem resolution using highly automated tools such as remote access online support and knowledge base systems to enable effective IT support to end users.
- Perform troubleshooting to system failures and identify bottlenecks to ensure long term efficiency of network.
- Inspect LAN infrastructure and fix minor or major problems/bugs.
- Test and configure software and maintain and repair hardware and peripheral devices.
- Assist in implementing business continuity and disaster recovery plans for the concerned systems to ensure smooth operations
- Carry out hardware installation including shelves power strips rails cable management and user equipment and perform remote hand services for users to enable effective IT support to end users.
- Implement system security protocol including password management data security and discrete working practices where there is access to confidential information to adhere to company s IT Polices.
- Monitor and support Microsoft server s platform i.e. email server core switches wireless controllers & wireless network cache server and network storages to ensure security and longterm solutions for ongoing IT issues.
- Ensure that all Operational Procedures are strictly adhered to in accordance with the set standards to ensure compliance with company s IT policy.
- Install network printers configure scanners and copier on the network format computers and install operating systems and other application on all staffs PCs to ensure the smooth operation of computers in the company.
- Perform network address assignment configuration and authorization of directory services routing tables and routing protocols to always ensure smooth functioning of IT Networks.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree or Diploma in Computer/Information Science
- 5 years relevant experience is required
- CCNA qualifications are strongly preferred.
- Certified in ITIL v3 Foundation MCSA
