Job Description Reports To: Head of Publications, Library and Archive. Department: Learning and Research About the Role Publications coordinators oversee the production of written materials, managing and maintaining articles, essays, visual content, bibliographies, and indexes. They handle the entire publication process, including editorial work, writing articles, and content formatting. Responsibilities Coordinate with the Line Manager and team on daily administrative tasks for ongoing projects, including internal book productions, the annual Publishing Grant, Art Book Fair (Focal Point), and the warehousing, sale, and distribution of books both internally and externally. Develop and enforce the yearly department calendar and project timelines, establishing operational frameworks for projects. Manage on-site and off-site programmes or events, such as book fairs and booths, ensuring seamless distribution, execution, and communication of departmental outputs in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Facilitate publication development through research, contracts, budgets, image sourcing, rights acquisition, and credits, working with internal teams and external freelancers like editors, designers, authors, translators, printers, artists, co-publishers, distributors, and partner institutions. Oversee and evaluate all departmental content for marketing and original publications, ensuring compliance with policies, style, tone, and institutional representation. Organize, coordinate, write, and compile content (text, images, captions) for publication design and production. Conduct research and learning projects related to SAF programmes. Qualifications and Required Skills Ability to manage personal schedule and prioritize tasks effectively. Ensure timely delivery of projects and tasks. Support team functions and collaborate effectively. Work efficiently under tight deadlines, including evenings and weekends if necessary. Provide constructive feedback and support the institution's positive image. Interest in writing, editing, artistic practices, and experimental art research. Familiarity with the publishing industry and art book production. Experience in developing content, educational materials, and working within the contemporary art or museum sectors. Two to three years of experience in editorial or publishing environments, managing bespoke publishing projects. Understanding of book retailing, shipping, and inventory management. #J-18808-Ljbffr
