About The RoleProvides innovative and modern architectural approach, in alignment with Organizations technical vision, goals and standards. Activities involve creating technical architecture blueprints, defining standards for design and development, review requirements and identify Non-functional requirements and ensure architecture decisions are aligned to meets the technical and business objectives of the mobile app.RESPONSIBILITESLead the architecture and design of native and hybrid Mobile Applications on AndroidLead and mentor iOS developers to ensure technical excellence in development of Android applicationsConduct architecture, solution design & code review of Android applications.Drive the identification and implementation of all NFR aspects related to Android developmentEnsure best practices related to UI components, performance, security, device resource utilization is leveraged to provide optimal app performance.Collaborate with product teams to understand functional and non-functional requirements and translate them into technical solutions.Facilitate communication and collaboration between engineering and product teams to ensure that solutions meet both technical and business needs.Participate in design and architecture reviews to ensure that proposed solutions meet the requirements and align with the overall architecture.Collaborate with Solution Architects from other LOBs to identify synergies in solutions and to adopt and standardize common tools and technologies across organizationEnsure that recommended technical architecture is manageable, maintainable, scalable, resilient, sustainable, cost effective whilst addressing business requirementsContribute to the development of architecture governance structures, methodologies and compliance activities of the organizationPlan and execute proof of concepts to demonstrate feasibility of idea, complex solutions and cutting-edge technologies.Responsible for ensuring that all application Non-Functional Requirements are met, ensure thorough testing of NFRs and ensure corrective / preventive actionsEnsure that products/projects are adhering to the relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices.Lead root cause analysis of reported critical incidents in operational production systems and recommend/ ensure implementation of effective preventive actions to avoid repetitionPartner with DevOps team to ensure seamless deployment and maintenance of application.Find opportunities to innovate using technology advancements, to the benefit of the productShare best practices and knowledge with engineers to promote continuous learning and improvement.Define and implement technical standards, best practices, and patterns for Android mobile development.Own all architecture decisions of the application and ensure these are documented as part of Architecture Decision RecordsRecommend the right choice of tools & libraries in alignment with the organization standards.Ensure all architecture decisions are in alignment with corporate security standards and guidelines.Identify technical debts and define technology roadmap for Android applications.Articulate the benefits of architecture modernization to stakeholders and ensure adoption of latest and proven engineering practices & technology trends in development of Android applications.Be part of an extraordinary story Your skills. Join us as we dare to achieve whatâs never been done before.Together, everything is possibleAbout You - Skills10+ years of experience in IT.5+ years of experience as Lead Architect for large android applications (B2C/B2B/B2E).In-depth understanding of Android programming paradigms, frameworks, and design patternsHands-on experience with a variety of Android technologies, including Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and cloud-native Android frameworksStrong grasp of software design principles and patternsProven experience in designing and implementing high-performance, secure, and maintainable Android applicationsStrong understanding of software design patterns and principlesExperience DevOps, DevSecOps methodologies and Software Development Life Cycle.Experience developing and consuming REST APIs / GraphQLExpertise in Product and Solution Design of Large-scale applicationsDomain expertise on Airline Domain would be added advantageMust have good analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and solve problemsStrong solution design skills to build scalable, resilient and sustainable solutions to address business requirements.Excellent communication and presentation skillsAbout Qatar Airways GroupOur story started with four aircraft.
