SEK International School Qatar is located inthe prominent West Bay, Al Farouq Street in Doha, Qatar. We are seeking candidates for 2024-2025 academicyear: MYP COORDINATOR/Middle School Principal Mission: Ensure thatthe daily operation of our Middle School reflects the schoolmission and values and that those are implemented through the IBMiddle Years Programme. Responsibilities: • Contribute tothe design of the strategic plan of the school. • Keepabreast of educational developments and research in the age rangerelated to the MYP. • Provide pedagogical andadministrative leadership with a focus on developing learning andteaching. • Work in collaboration with the Director ofLearning & Teaching, PYP and DP coordinators to oversee IBevaluation visits and action plans. • Ensure highstandards of teaching and learning through regular classroomvisits, co-teaching and supporting teachers in their ownprofessional learning. • Ensure that the IB Standards andPractices and Programme requirements are implemented in the school.This includes: a. Review, development and promotion of theprogramme implementation throughout the school and the schoolcommunity b. Organization and leadership of MYP meetings/workshopsfor parents or others related to the programme, at the Head of theSchool's request. c. Organization of the MYPTeachers' Professional Development Plan ensuring teachersare in compliance with the IB requirements in this regard. d.Organization and leadership of the collaborative planning process.e. Design and implementation of the induction process for newteachers. • Assume day-to-day responsibility for themanagement of Middle School student behaviour, attendance, anddiscipline in cooperation with tutors. • Take acollaborative leadership role in the transition of students intoMYP and DP. • Develop the school timetable, duty, covers,rotas and other supervision according to academic and balancedwider curriculum requirements. Requirements: • Extensivebackground in secondary curriculum, standards and pedagogy.• 3 years experience in a leadership position. •IB Educator Network member as a workshop leader, visiting teammember or consultant is desirable. • Teachingqualification. • Relevant experience in MYP and DPteaching and implementation. • Familiar with IT tools(ManageBac). • Strong organisational and communicationskills. • Excellent interpersonal and time managementskills. • Fluency in English. Arabic and Spanishdesirable. • NEASC experience will be viewed favourably.Job type: full time.
