Key responsibilities include engaging with NEOM regional plans, supporting stakeholder engagement, evaluating environmental risks associated with development to ensure compliance with NEOM environmental objectives, addressing planning guidelines, obtaining permits for development, and ensuring alignment with NEOM's Sustainability Performance expectations for the Nature Reserve marine component. The role will be instrumental in ensuring that the integrity of the marine reserve and the conservation and tourism programme is not threatened by development within or encroaching on the reserve boundaries.Desired Candidate ProfileEnvironmental Risk Identification and Mitigation:• Lead the identification of environmental risks associated with NEOM development and marine use.• Identify and propose appropriate mitigation measures to protect the Nature Reserve Seascape.• Support assessment of risks arising from development programmes outside the reserve boundary that might threaten the integrity of the marine reserve and its objectives.• Collaborate with the Senior Manager Land Use, Planning and Environmental Protection to establish a robust risk assessment and mitigation framework and to optimize the processing of land use permits and impact assessments.• From experience, introduce innovative approaches to cost-effective digitization of marine environmental impact assessment.Engagement and Coordination:• Lead engagement for the Nature Reserve marine division regarding interfaces with the NEOM regional plan, development programs, and proponents.• Coordinate the marine department's response to NEOM development, addressing resulting impacts to the Marine Nature Reserve.• Assist the Marine Protected Area Manager and Senior Manager Land Use, Planning and Environmental Protection in engagement with relevant internal and external stakeholders, recording key information.Stakeholder Interaction:• Support the Marine Reserve Manager in stakeholder engagement related to the implementation of NEOM Nature Region Marine Spatial Plan and Integrated Management Plan.Planning and Infrastructure:• Support the Nature Reserve in addressing planning and preparation of associated development and infrastructure guidelines.• Assist in reviewing and commenting on relevant draft regulatory instruments, technical guidelines, and associated rules prepared by the NEOM AuthorityEmployment TypeFull TimeCompany Industry Recruitment Placement Firm Executive Search Department / Functional Area HSE (Health Safety Keywords Marine Marine Reserve Marine Protected Area Disclaimer: Naukrigulf.com is only a platform to bring jobseekers & employers together.
