We are now looking for Senior Designer, Instrumentation and Automation to execute projects and support bids in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Reports To The Senior Designer, Instrumentation and Automation reports to Head of Discipline, Instrumentation & Automation. Job Overview The Senior Designer, Instrumentation and Automation is responsible for handling engineering design review and analysis assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in oil & gas. In your role, you will lead and execute multiple projects (local and international) with the designer team and also will be responsible for preparing instrumentation and automation engineering documents and drawings as required for the project and assigned by the Discipline Manager. We also value people for whom safety is part of their professional skills. Responsibilities And Duties You will support the team on process industry-based project design work for smooth execution.

  • Assist Engineers / Design Manager / Discipline Manager for the engineering design of the project.
  • Ensure verification of source data, concept drawings / concepts as required.
  • Prepare and finalize the engineering document deliverable register (EDDR) in coordination with all relevant department / discipline, submission date as per Client / Contract requirements.
  • Preparation of all I&A related design deliverables through MS-office, Smart plant tools (SP3D, SPI), AUTOCAD, NAVIS, Micro-station, PDS, PDMS, Aveva E3D, etc.
  • Review design documents, drawings, etc. issued by various disciplines, design subcontractors and ensure Client requirements.
  • Conduct review meetings (3D modelling, plot plan review, Constructability study).
  • Ensure approval of all submitted documents and drawings and necessary coordination with Client.
  • Prepare Material Take Off.
  • Overall responsible for inter-discipline coordination, submission of necessary design documents/ deliverables and procedures to the Client.
  • Ensure compliance to Laws and Statutory Regulations, Authority, Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Requirements for the project.
  • Resolve unclear issues with Client through technical queries in coordination with inter-discipline leads and managers.
  • Coordinate for the preparation of as-built documentation.
  • Work on following IAE tools to perform designing and drafting activities for Design, Execution and As-built.

  • Smart Plant Instrumentation User (added value)
  • SPR (Smart Plant Review)
  • Smart Sketch
  • PDS (E& I Cable Trays & Equipment Modeling)
  • MicroStation
  • AutoCAD (Smart working / Macros)
  • Navisworks
  • Microsoft Office (Fast working / Macros / formatting)
Qualifications
  • Engineering Graduate (BSc. Or Diploma).
  • Minimum of 12 years relevant designer experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Chemical Industries and 8 years in a senior role.
  • Expertise in PDS, MicroStation ‘J’ & AutoCAD.
  • Must have worked in FEED and EPC projects and delivered to ADNOC Onshore.
  • Telecommunication knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Working experience with reputed Engineering Consultant(s) is an advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills.
  • Team player, smart-working, problem solver and can-do attitude.
  • Fluent in English language, Arabic speaking is an added advantage.
