Duties & Responsibilities
Purpose
This Job serves the operational side of the organization's business . Perform day to day activities with the function / role and carry out work onshore or offshore in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Functions
• Conduct Advanced AUT Tests: Develop advanced techniques and oversee complex ultrasonic inspections on materials and components to detect internal flaws, measure thickness, and evaluate material properties.
• Interpret Test Results: Analyze and interpret ultrasonic test data to identify defects or inconsistencies, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Internal Audit of AUT Operator Data interpretation and AUT scanner / software operation.
• Develop Testing Procedures: Create and refine testing procedures and protocols to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
• Develop Testing Techniques: Create and refine testing techniques to ensure full coverage of item being inspected (Girth Welds).
• Design AUT Calibration Blocks to Job requirements and specifications.
• Oversee equipment Calibration and Maintenance: Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasonic testing equipment to ensure optimal performance.
• Training and Mentorship: Provide training and guidance to technicians and other team members on AUT ultrasonic testing techniques and best practices.
• Documentation and Reporting: Generate detailed reports on test results, maintain accurate records, and document testing procedures.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all testing activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
• Develop Training courses for AUT and Proficiency Testing protocols for AUT Operators and Scanner Techs.
• Deal with Clients to solve inspection problems or concerns related to AUT.
• Ensure inspection is carried out within the parameters of the applicable specification.
• Work with advanced software for Probability of Detection, Probability of Rejection, Ultrasonic Beam modeling (CIVA) etc.
• Write AUT System Qualification and project validation procedures, develop defect maps for Seeded defect welds used in qualification and project validation.
• Carry out risk assessments, participate in observation cards and Take IIs as required.
• Carry out work in a timely and efficient manner to meet deadlines, changing priorities when the situation requires.
• Carry out work in accordance with Oceaneering operating procedures and statutory/client specifications and requirements.
• Experience in CRA pipeline inspection is preferred.
• The role required to work at offshore as and when required.
• Undertake any other duties of a reasonable nature as required by Management.
• Carry out work in accordance with the Company Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems

REQUIRED
• AUT Level III CSWIP certificates plus minimum CSWIP/PCN Level II UT.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Offshore medical, annual eye test, BOSIET

• Minimum 15+ years of experience in the AUT inspection techniques within the oil and gas industry with a minimum of 8+ years in Level 3 position.
• Be proficient in Word, Excel and Windows based programs.

Working Conditions
This position is considered ONSHORE/OFFSHORE which is characterized as follows.
• Almost exclusively indoors/outdoors during the day and occasionally at night
• Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace
• Work surface is stable (flat), climbing ladders and working from scaffold or work at height platforms.
• Willingness to travel international.
• Travel in region and on/offshore via bus, taxi, helicopter, airplane, boat.
