Summary Responsible for non-physician clinical operations and patient care. Works closely with the Director, Organ Transplant Centre (OTC) to maintain and advance the safety, quality, compliance and professional competence of those who provide care to the transplant patient including all nursing, clinical and support services staff. Supervises transplant clinical coordination team. Essential Responsibilities and Duties 1. Supervises the daily activities of Transplant Coordination Team Section, including pre & post-transplant activities, up to date waiting list, admission/discharge from Hospital, organ procurement, and donation activities from deceased and living donors. 2. Ensures the delivery of high quality and cost effective care, based upon competency and evidenced based clinical practice and research. 3. Leads the development and revisions of OTC protocols, policies and procedures in collaboration with the concerned transplant section head, and quality directors. 4. Liaises and coordinates collaborative efforts of the Transplant Coordination Team Section with other teams within the OTC, other KFSH&RC departments, and other institutions to ensure optimum healthcare provision for transplant recipients and organ donors and facilitate identification and resolution of issues related to the transplant services. 5. Ensures the attendance of the transplant coordinators in the clinical rounds, meetings, and department activities. 6. Represents OTC in meetings, taskforces, committees, and others as assigned. 7. Participates and contributes to the research activities of the centre, including involvement in data collection, dissemination and reporting. 8. Establishes guidelines for the accurate collection and proper filing of all organ coordinators documentation and ensures completeness of documentation. 9. Leads the professional development, training and specialty certifications for Transplant Coordination Team Section. 10. Leads the recruitment retention, and annual performance appraisals of the Transplant Coordination Team Section. 11. Ensures the compliance of the Transplant Coordination Team Section with the professional and ethical codes of conduct. 12. Leads and coordinates the development of educational programs for both patients and staff in collaboration with other Hospital departments as applicable. 13. Leads in the promotion and maintenance of effective communication and teamwork as applicable. 14. Supervises and coordinates the achievement of OTC clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction. 15. Supervises and coordinates special projects/assignments linked to OTC strategic priorities as assigned. Education Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Registered Nurse with country specific post registration program is required. Experience Required Six (6) years of hospital experience in acute care setting, including four (4) years of transplant experience and three (3) years at a managerial/ supervisory position with Master's or ten (10) years, including six (6) years of transplant experience and three (3) years at a managerial/ supervisory position with Bachelor's Degree is required. Other Requirements(Certificates) * American Board of Transplant Coordinator Certificate is Preferred. * Current registered nurse licensure from country of origin is required.
