Regional Geologist
Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Duration: 12 month renewable contract
We are seeking a highly experienced Regional Geologist to join our client Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the UAE's stratigraphy and depositional settings, with a specific focus on Middle Eastern carbonate geology. The role involves assisting with ongoing regional/play studies, requiring proficiency in regional interpretation and a deep understanding of carbonate reservoirs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regional/play studies focusing on Middle Eastern carbonate geology.
- Provide expert interpretation of stratigraphy and depositional settings.
- Utilize basin modeling techniques to enhance understanding of petroleum systems.
- Rank prospects and evaluate their potential using industry-standard methodologies.
- Apply MEGACELL concept expertise to optimize exploration strategies.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Geology or related field is preferred, Bachelor's/master's degree is essential.
- Extensive experience in regional interpretation, preferably in the Middle East.
- Proficiency in basin modeling techniques.
- Strong understanding of prospect ranking methodologies.
- Familiarity with the MEGACELL concept is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
