About Peerpoint Peerpoint is Allen & Overy’s global platform for self-directed consultant lawyers who want to access the best work, clients, resources and bespoke support, whilst working on assignments with Allen & Overy or directly with clients as a legal consultant. Legal consultancy can offer lawyers fresh and varied work in a range of in house teams and potentially within A&O practice groups. We are seeing increasing demand for high calibre Arabic speaking legal consultants in the United Arab Emirates, across a multitude of disciplines.  Successful applicants will have:

  • A minimum of four years' post-qualification experience at a top tier law firm, ideally with some in house exposure either directly or via secondment
  • Excellent academic credentials;
  • A practicing certificate (or equivalent) which entitles them to practice as a lawyer
  • A consultant mindset - be resilient, open to experiencing new challenges and environments and be excited to develop their skill set and brand within the consultancy field
  • The commitment and willingness to work on-site in Abu Dhabi or Dubai, to suit client requirements (although hybrid working patterns can be discussed)

  • In-house with one of our clients - this could mean working with a client either virtually or locally to support a project, regulatory reform or transactional work during periods of absence. Assignments can range from three to twelve months in duration and will vary in hours.
  • In the Allen & Overy UAE practice to support a specific client or the practice generally during peak volumes. We have consultants that step into the team on an ad hoc basis and those who work regularly to support the Practice.
We only take you on when we see a demand for your particular expertise, making sure there is a good chance we can provide you with work on an on-going basis. We cannot guarantee work but we are every bit as invested in moving your career forward as you are. Throughout the period of your assignment, you’ll also have access to a huge suite of A&O resources, including:
  • An A&O partner or senior lawyer contact
  • A&O professional support lawyers and knowledge resources
  • Bespoke Peerpoint support including: individualised coaching, exclusive events designed to meet your training and networking needs, a specialised consultant development programme on transition management, mindset and business planning and specialised CV/marketing document training
  • Further training: Our consultants are invited to attend some of A&O’s legal training and also have access to A&O's IT training courses
  • Client newsletters and seminars
  • Invitations to A&O networks
