Lead Structural Engineer - Oil  and Gas Operating Company - UAE  We are looking for a  Lead Structural Engineer for an oil and gas Operating Company based in  UAE. Responsibilities: -Assist in the development of the design basis. -Ensure that project standards and functional specifications for discipline are suitable. Where exceptions and/or deviations from Corporate Standards are proposed, raise formal dispensation to the relevant Technical Authority. -Demonstrate visible commitment to excellent Project Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) performance. -Assist in the preparation and review of vendor equipment performance guarantees as appropriate. -Support the review of concession requests relating to discipline and raise to the relevant Technical Authority. -Undertake a review of previous lessons learned, and the incorporation of relevant lessons learned into the design. -Establish the requirements for design deliverables relating to discipline. -Review and Approve design deliverables. Follow up on comments to ensure they are suitably incorporated. -Participate in Hazard Identification Study (HAZID), Hazard and Operability Analysis (HAZOP), Model reviews and other relevant Project related reviews. -Monitor progress of the development of engineering design deliverables and propose corrective actions to the Project Manager in the event of potential schedule overrun. -Where applicable, undertake inspections of related equipment at various stages of its manufacture. -Prepare technical and progress updates to support the flow of key information to management to assist in decision making. -Where applicable, apply criticality ratings to procured items (relative to the degree of inspection required). -Lead the management of change process in terms of engineering reviews, potential changes and variation order proposals for the discipline, raising to the discipline Project Manager. -Where applicable, participate in the procurement process (e.g. Invitation to Tender {ITT} requisition packages) through the evaluation of technical submissions. -Co-operate with the Operations Representative to support readiness for handover, commissioning and safe Operation. -Where applicable support the development of operating and maintenance manuals. -Manage the routine co-ordination and priorities within the discipline for the Project Candidate profile: -Degree qualified Engineer. -Preferably Chartered / Professional Engineer. - 15+ years engineering experience in an oil and gas environment. - Pragmatic, self-motivated and demonstrates initiative. - Take ownership of issues and follow them through to completion. - Willingness to interact directly with people. - Enjoy working as part of a multi-cultural team. - Ability to work in an organised and structured fashion, and within time constraints. - Excellent verbal and written English communication skills. - UAE Driving License.
