This role ensures that stores meet or exceed sales targets, adhere to operational excellence standards, and deliver a superior customer experience. The Area Manager serves as the key link between the head office and store managers, ensuring alignment with business strategy and consistent execution across all locations.About the Role: The Retail Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the performance and operations of multiple retail stores within a designated geographical area. This role ensures that stores meet or exceed sales targets, adhere to operational excellence standards, and deliver a superior customer experience.Responsibilities: Store Operations Management Supervise daily operations across all assigned stores to ensure compliance with company standards and procedures.Monitor store performance and provide support to Store Supervisors/Team Leaders to resolve operational challenges.Ensure stores maintain a consistent visual merchandising and cleanliness standard.Support the implementation of promotional and marketing activities at store level.Lead and manage a team of Store Team Leaders, providing guidance, mentorship, and support in the day-to-day operations of the retail stores.Coach and develop Store Team Leaders to effectively manage their teams, ensuring that they meet and exceed sales targets, KPIs, and service expectations.Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify training opportunities to help team leaders and their teams grow professionally.Ensure that team leaders are fully equipped with product knowledge, customer service techniques, and leadership skills to drive store performance.Monitor and drive the performance of all retail stores, ensuring that sales targets, customer acquisition goals, and service standards are consistently met.Work with Store Team Leaders to set and achieve store-specific sales goals and KPIs, identifying areas of opportunity and implementing corrective actions when necessary.Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and improving customer engagement to boost sales and revenue.Analyze sales reports and performance metrics to track progress and make data-driven decisions to optimize store performance.Customer Experience & Service Excellence Ensure that all retail stores deliver a high standard of customer service by developing a customer-first culture across the store network.Oversee the resolution of customer complaints and issues escalated by Store Team Leaders, ensuring timely and satisfactory solutions.Conduct regular store visits to assess the customer experience, adjusting store operations or staff behavior where necessary.Develop initiatives to enhance customer retention, satisfaction, and loyalty in alignment with the distributor’s service philosophy.Operational Management Ensure operational efficiency across all stores, including staff scheduling, inventory management, cash handling, and store cleanliness.Work with Store Team Leaders to maintain a consistent and high-quality store environment, ensuring that stores are well-maintained, visually appealing, and compliant with all company policies.Optimize store layouts, inventory management, and stock levels to ensure that product availability aligns with customer demand.Ensure adherence to company procedures and local regulations in all operational activities, including health and safety, legal compliance, and security standards.Inventory & Stock Management Oversee the inventory management process to ensure products are stocked adequately, organized, and properly displayed to drive sales.Work with Store Team Leaders to conduct regular stock audits, ensuring stock accuracy and minimizing inventory loss.Ensure timely restocking of high-demand products and proper management of slow-moving items to maximize sales opportunities.Reporting & Communication Provide regular performance reports to the B2C Business Head, including sales data, store performance, inventory levels, and customer feedback.Maintain effective communication with Store Team Leaders to ensure they are well-informed about company policies, procedures, promotions, and new product offerings.Ensure that Store Team Leaders are regularly updated on operational changes, campaigns, and company initiatives.Qualifications: Educational Background Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.Work Experience At least 5 years of experience in retail management, with a proven track record of managing multiple retail locations.Prior experience in the telecom, electronics, or related consumer goods industry is preferred.Experience in managing and developing teams, particularly Store Team Leaders and retail staff.Required Skills: Shaping Strategy: Leverages market and performance data to adapt store-level tactics, product assortments, and promotional plans for competitive advantage.Driving Change: Guides the rollout of new processes, campaigns, and standards—ensuring buy-in, smooth adoption, and measurable impact.Leading Teams: Inspires and develops Store Team Leaders through coaching, performance reviews, and targeted training.Delivering Results & Fostering Ownership: Owns outcomes by setting clear targets, monitoring progress, and taking proactive steps to hit goals.Building Customer Value: Champions customer-first initiatives, mystery shops, loyalty programs, and service enhancements to boost satisfaction and advocacy.Networking & Influencing Collaboratively: Builds cross-functional relationships and uses data-backed recommendations to align Marketing, Supply
