Retail Trainer
Description
Purpose of Role: The Retail Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs that equip frontline retail teams with the skills, knowledge, and behaviors needed to drive sales performance, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and uphold brand standards across all retail channels. Accountability & Responsibilities of Role: Training Program Development Design end-to-end learning curricula (classroom, e-learning, on-the-job coaching) aligned with business objectives. Collaborate with Retail Leadership to identify skills gaps and prioritize training topics (product knowledge, sales techniques, customer service protocols). Delivery & Facilitation Conduct interactive workshops and role-plays to reinforce learning. Coach and mentor store managers and sales advisors in real time on the sales floor. Ensure consistency of training delivery across all retail locations. Assessment & Evaluation Develop assessment tools (quizzes, observation checklists, performance metrics) to measure learning effectiveness. Analyze post-training data (sales uplift, mystery shopper scores, customer feedback) to refine programs. Provide actionable feedback to participants and leadership on strengths and development areas. Continuous Improvement Stay current on retail trends, adult-learning best practices, and competitive benchmarks. Solicit feedback from trainees and stakeholders to iterate content and delivery methods. Maintain a repository of training materials and update them quarterly. Stakeholder Collaboration Partner with HRBP, Learning & Development, and Operations teams to align training initiatives with broader talent and business strategies. Liaise with product, marketing, and merchandising teams to cascade new product launches and promotional campaigns effectively. Compliance & Brand Standards Ensure all training adheres to company policies, retail compliance requirements, and brand guidelines. Monitor adherence at store level and support remedial action plans where required. Position Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field. Professional certification in Training & Development (TOT ,CPTD, ATD) is a plus. 5 years of experience in retail training, learning & development, or sales coaching—preferably within consumer electronics or fast-moving retail environments. Proven track record of designing and delivering high-impact training programs. Strong facilitation skills with experience in both classroom and virtual settings.
