Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Engineer Position Overview: The GIS Engineer will be responsible for managing and analyzing spatial data related to pipeline operations in the oil & gas industry. The role requires expertise in GIS database maintenance, mapping, and data documentation. Qualifications: B.S. or equivalent degree in Engineering from an accredited university, with a minimum of six (6) years of experience in the GIS domain, including at least three (3) years in the oil & gas industry. Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of ESRI Arc GIS V10.x, Arc GIS Pro 2.x or higher. Experience in maintaining GIS databases, mapping, and documenting data for pipeline operations. Proficiency with Arc GIS Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst. Experience with maintaining SDE layers in an ESRI Arc GIS Server SDE environment (Oracle or SQL Server). Skills in GIS analytics, geo-processing, data integration, and publishing raster and vector services. Knowledge of scripting languages such as SQL and Python, and tools like Safe Software FME, Arc GIS Model Builder. Familiarity with Oracle SQL, MS Access, and SQL Server.
