GIS & Data Engineer

We are looking for people that are self-driven, passionate, and with a sense of purpose.As a GIS Engineer at Nabat AI, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and optimizing geospatial data pipelines that feed into our AI-driven analytics and decision-support platforms. You'll collaborate closely with data scientists, field ecologists, and software engineers to ensure the quality and usability of our spatial datasets—from satellite imagery to land-use models.What you'll do• Design and implement scalable GIS data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and analyzing satellite and drone imagery.• Develop algorithms for spatial analysis, including land classification, vegetation indexing (NDVI, EVI), and yield forecasting.• Integrate remote sensing data (e.g., Sentinel, Landsat) with ground-truth data to improve model accuracy.• Work closely with data scientists, product managers, and software engineers to deliver geospatial features within our web applications.• Support the team with spatial data visualization, tiling services, and map styling for intuitive and impactful UX.• Maintain and optimize GIS databases, ensuring performance and data integrity.• Contribute to the overall technical roadmap and ensure geospatial infrastructure aligns with our AI-driven goals.What we're looking for• Proven experience as a GIS Engineer, Geospatial Developer, or a similar role, ideally within an AI, agri-tech, or environmental context.• Strong expertise in geospatial tools and libraries (e.g., GDAL, Rasterio, Post GIS, QGIS).• Hands-on experience with cloud GIS tools and APIs (e.g., Google Earth Engine, Mapbox, Leaflet, or Cesium).• Proficiency in Python, including geospatial data processing packages (e.g., Geo Pandas, Shapely, Fiona).• Understanding of remote sensing principles and satellite data processing workflows.• Experience working with spatial databases and geospatial APIs in a production environment.• Familiarity with machine learning applications in GIS is a strong plus.• Self-starter, adaptable, and passionate about sustainable innovation At Nabat, we're not just building technology — we're shaping the future of sustainable agriculture through innovation and collaboration.
