Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct data mapping and inventory exercises to identify personal data and assess associated risks.
- Develop and implement data privacy policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with applicable regulations (e.g., GDPR, UAE PDPL, CCPA, etc.).
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure data privacy requirements are integrated into business processes.
- Assess and implement Privacy by Design principles and related controls across the software development departments.
- Conduct data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) and manage related risks.
- Create Data Flow Diagrams (DFD) across all software products and maintain Records of Processing Activities (RoPA).
- Respond to data subject access requests within the stipulated timeframe.
- Lead the implementation and configuration of data privacy tools like BigID to automate data discovery, classification, PIA, RoPA, DSAR, etc.
- Collaborate with IT and DevOps to integrate data privacy tools with existing systems and infrastructure.
- Monitor compliance with data privacy regulations and internal policies.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify and address any compliance gaps.
- Prepare and present reports on data privacy activities and performance metrics to the Senior Management.
- Promote a culture of data privacy awareness within the organization through communication and engagement initiatives.
- Stay up to date on evolving data privacy regulations and industry best practices.
- Participate in cross-functional projects related to data privacy and protection.
- Be open to cross-functional upskilling programs to manage IT and Cyber Security Risks.
- Comply with Avrioc's Information security and Information service management policies, procedures, and standards.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of information and attend mandatory Information security trainings.
- Report information security incidents through Avrioc's established incident reporting channel.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in data privacy and protection, data security, or a related field.
- CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT, ISO 27701, or other relevant data privacy certifications (a plus).
- Must have worked in a Technology or Consulting firm with good exposure to application development domains supporting data privacy practices.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing data privacy programs, privacy by design, and other privacy-related initiatives.
- Strong understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, UAE PDPL, CCPA) and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with data privacy tools such as BigID, OneTrust, Securiti.ai or similar solutions.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and adherence to strict privacy protocols.
- Fluency in both written and spoken English.
