OFFSET PRESS OPERATING TECHNICIAN

Summary Operates and maintains all offset printing press machines and related equipment. Essential Responsibilities and Duties 1. Examines work order to determine job specificationssuch as quantity, paper, number of plates, colors, and overall jobcomplexity. 2. Performs press make ready, adjusting for paper type and size. Performs plate make ready, installing plate on press and removing protective gum. Performs print quality check for copy position, ink registration, ink coverage and density and overall appearance, and makes appropriate press control adjustments prior to press running. 3. Performs press and plate clean up, including plate reservation procedures. 4. Performs paper cutting and related duties. 5. Ensures that proper stock levels are maintained and recommends timely purchase or requisition. 6. Performs scheduledmaintenance.Ensures that equipmentis properlymaintained and repaired. Ensures safe work practices. 7. Assists in color separations, montage making, and establishment of production priorities. 8. Trains other employees. 9. Participates in self and other's education, training and development, as applicable. 10. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures. Education Bachelor's or Associate Degree or Diploma in Offset Printing or any related discipline is required. Experience Required One (1)yearsof related experience with Bachelor's or three (3) years with Associate Degree/Diploma in Operating of Offset Printing Press and related equipment required.
