Overview

Saudi Aramco is seeking for an experienced Electrical Technician (Fabrication, Welding & NDT) to work in Mechanical Services Shops Department (MSSD) in Abqaiq / Planning and Technical Services Division having hands on experience Provides work direction, technical guidance, and supervision for work crews in the fabrication, welding, and repair of plant pressure vessels, piping, and auxiliary equipment. And act a mentor if required.

MSSD has state-of-the-art workshops and facilities that are driven by our most valuable asset, which is the department's skilled and experienced workforce. Its primary responsibility is to maintain Saudi Aramco's rotating and stationary equipment. The department plays a vital role in the company as it provides support to all field organizations by maintaining and repairing corporate equipment.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provides work direction for a crew of 6-10 craftsmen. Evaluates work in progress to control product quality and work team productivity. Reviews outstanding work requests to plan manpower assignments and to determine specific requirements for materials, tools, and department.

Requests materials, tools, and equipment for fabrication work through the SAMS system or through the Maintenance Planner. Performs administrative duties as required of Group Head, including report writing and record keeping regarding welding work performed by crews under his supervision.

Provides technical advice and guidance to lower craftsmen, operations and maintenance to assist in planning T&Is or large fabrication projects. Ensures that all craftsmen working under his direction follow safe and proper welding procedures, in adherence to all pertinent company standards.

Performs on-the-job training and mentoring for lower qualified craftsmen under his direction, and maintains records of on-job training accomplishments of all craftsmen in the unit.

Troubleshoots and performs the necessary analysis on complex projects to determine (a) if repair is required, (b) nature of repair to be made, and (c) whether repairs will be made in shop or field.

Minimum Requirements

Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 10 years' in fabrication, welding & NDT field as stipulated above under position description. Candidate must have the following the field experience requirements.

 

  • Experience in Serving as the technical authority concerning all fabrication, vessel maintenance, equipment installation and repair, and/or testing, inspection, and welding.
  • responsible for directing and controlling the work of 6-10 Welders, Pipefitter/Fabricators, and Field Metals Mechanics in projects involving fabrication of pipe spools and structural steel assemblies or repair of plant piping and equipment
