In particular, the potential candidate will support the research toward the development of functional technologies to study aspects of green approaches for water and food security and natural resource sustainability in the context of Qatar food security and sustainability needs. The incumbent will perform tests using a variety of modern field and laboratory equipment for Chemical synthesis, Nanofiber and Nanocomposites structures manufacturing, Using Green chemistry approaches and greenhouse cooling systems, Structural analysis and Specifications, calibrating and maintaining instrumentation and preparing and processing samples for analysis, manuscript writing and preparing project reports and presentations. The successful candidates will interact with researchers with respect to the related projects.QualificationsThe candidates must have a PhD in Textile Engineering from a renowned university. The potential candidates should have a demonstrated record of excellence in research. The candidate should have a solid background and pieces of experience in Green Chemistry, Textile Chemistry and Nanotexture formation methods and also a hand on engineering techniques for large scale production plants and cooling system managements as well as the statistical analysis of data and models. The candidates should have experience with the operation of the laboratory and industrial equipment (including SEM, FTIR, XRD, moisture sensors, Electro-spinning machine, air and water permeability testers and other Textile physical and Chemical Testing equipment). Accepted level of Fluency in written and spoken English is required.Preferable research experiencesSignificant experience in Textile Chemistry and Fiber ScienceA good publication record of the position-related papers published in peer-reviewed journalsAbility to work effectively as a part of a multi-disciplinary research team, and to carry out independent individual research to meet project goalsAdvanced written and oral communication skillsExperiences in scientific writing for preparation of scientific papers for publication and presentations for meetings and/or conferencesOutstanding hands-on skills, strong statistical and analytical skillsNanostructure formations, sampling and analysisTextile sampling and testingEfficient Time management skillsExperience in working with teams of engineers in industrial scale projectsSkillsSkills in statistical analysis, green chemicals and processes, Nanofiber spinning devices and procedures, the use of chemical and textile testing devices, analysis of SEM, XRD and other analytical device data, greenhouse cooling systems and practices, greenhouse control systems, MS word, Power point and Spreadsheet proficiency, Research paper preparation and publication, Presenting research findings at conferences and venues.
