The Occupational Therapist will support students with developmental, physical, and emotional challenges, enabling them to participate effectively in school activities and achieve their academic and social potential. The role involves working closely with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals to develop and implement tailored therapy plans.

Key Responsibilities

Assess students' abilities, challenges, and needs through observation, standardized tests, and consultations.
Develop individualized therapy plans to improve motor skills, sensory integration, and daily functioning in the school environment.
Provide one-on-one or group therapy sessions to address fine and gross motor skills, sensory processing, and self-regulation.
Collaborate with teachers to modify classroom environments and tasks to support students' learning and participation.
Train school staff and parents on strategies and techniques to assist students in achieving their goals.
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed.
Participate in Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings to provide input on student progress and future goals.
Promote inclusive practices and help students develop independence in academic and social settings.
Stay updated on best practices and advancements in pediatric occupational therapy.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s or master’s degree in occupational therapy from an accredited institution.
Valid professional license or eligibility to obtain a license in Abu Dhabi (DOH/HAAD).
Experience in pediatric occupational therapy, preferably in a school setting.
Strong knowledge of developmental milestones and common childhood conditions such as autism, ADHD, and learning disabilities.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with students, parents, and school staff effectively.

Skills and Competencies

Proficient in developing and implementing therapy plans tailored to individual needs.
Skilled in using therapeutic tools and equipment to facilitate student engagement.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
Compassionate and patient, with a commitment to helping students succeed.

Additional Requirements

Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
