Job Overview The Structural Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and managing all structural engineering activities for the transportation project during the pre-construction and construction phases. Experience in Project Management Consultancy (PMC) and railway projects is required. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing the design review and construction supervision of underground interchange stations. This role involves validating the design provided by the D&B contractor and ensuring compliance with project specifications and standards. Roles and Responsibilities:
- Review and validate structural designs submitted by the D&B contractor for underground interchange stations.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of structural components, including foundations, retaining walls, and support systems.
- Collaborate with the design team to address any discrepancies or issues identified during the review process.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team during the implementation phase.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to approved designs and specifications.
- Conduct site inspections and assessments to verify the quality and integrity of structural works.
- Prepare and review technical reports, design calculations, and documentation.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on design review and construction supervision activities.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues related to structural engineering aspects of the project.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Proven experience in design review and construction supervision of metro rail or similar transport infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and best practices in structural engineering.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on underground structures and interchange stations.
- Expertise in structural analysis and design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, ETABS, SAP2000 or equivalent).
- Familiarity with geotechnical engineering principles and their application to underground structures.
- Experience in conducting structural assessments and inspections.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound engineering judgments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working in a PMC environment.
- Knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in using project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
