My client is a very large and ambitious locally grown travel company with a varied range of product offerings seen as groundbreaking in its industry. One particular growth area is developing the retail strategy and concepts locally and internationally to complement the main business model, giving the client larger brand exposure and, above all, a customer experience that many companies can only dream of.Reporting to the VP Direct Sales, the Head of Retail Strategy is responsible for the development and execution of the global Retail Business strategy, which underpins the transformation of the Retail business unit to the future mode of operating Retail to complement the business.Working with the global teams, you will be responsible for the following key elements:Develop the retail touch and feel.Customer insights on retail shopping habits.Direct the retail POS system strategy (software upgrades, peripheral hardware management, communications, and field integration), ensuring that system productivity is maximized and continuously improved upon.Lead the Retail Business strategy regarding the positioning of retail businesses across high street, mall locations, etc., ensuring the right Retail offering to meet location requirements and the right Etihad brand fit for such purpose.Use and enhance a strong knowledge of the latest technology trends to build the infrastructure and share real results.In summary, the Head of Retail Strategy is a senior retail role and requires experience working closely with executive level. A proven ability to think strategically and proactively, lead projects across various departments, track and report within agreed KPIs is essential. Experience in managing and leading teams across multiple locations is also essential.Finally, strong leadership skills, with extensive people management experience at senior level and a track record of delivering significant process improvements and technology change are required.Minimum Requirements:Degree educated, MBA preferred.Managed circa $30M P&L.At least 15 years of airline/travel/retail experience, including five to seven years in a leadership role, at least four years in a senior retail role, and at least two years working with sales technology.Comfortable to live and work in Abu Dhabi.Track record of working closely with executive level, influencing decisions.A proven ability to work in a large multinational company with a multicultural environment.Strong leadership skills, with extensive people management experience at senior level.Track record of delivering significant process improvements and technology change.
