Dean of the School of Business American University of Ras Al Khaimah The American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK) seeks an innovative, experienced educator to lead its School of Business, as the university embarks on a new strategic plan focused on providing a transformational, student-centered learning experience based on the North American model of higher education enriched by attention to the culture of the region. The School of Business currently offers one undergraduate program (BS in Business Administration) with majors in Accounting, Business Analytics, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Hospitality and Tourism Management. It also offers two graduate programs (MBA and Executive MBA). The school has been granted initial accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in 2023. Job Purpose The Dean of the School of Business is the chief executive officer of the School and is responsible for the general administration of the School. The Dean provides leadership and vision in strategic planning and implementation of programs and leads the School’s development activities. Qualifications, Experience, Skills, And Knowledge
- Hold a terminal degree in a field relevant to the School of Business.
- Be able to be appointed at the level of Full Professor.
- Have a minimum of ten years' experience in academic administration in an American university or one organized on an American model.
- Have experience teaching at the university level, in English.
- Have experience in a multicultural environment.
- Possess leadership qualities and a proven research background in one of the School's specializations.
- Be adept at budgeting and operating within allocated resources.
- The candidate should preferably have experience in AACSB accreditation.
- Experience living and working in multiple international settings.
- Cultural sensitivity.
- Record of developing and implementing new academic programs.
- Evidence of collegiality and effective advocacy for university initiatives.
- Resiliency, optimism, and adaptability.
- Developing new programs and revamping existing programs to grow enrollment.
- Promoting academic rigor and the use of high-impact educational practices.
- Promoting high-impact research.
- Guiding programs to prestigious international accreditations.
