A Fleet Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a company's vehicle fleet. Below is a detailed job description for a Fleet Coordinator: Job Title: Fleet Coordinator Key Responsibilities:

  1. Fleet Operations Management: Schedule and oversee routine maintenance and repairs for vehicles to ensure optimal performance. Monitor vehicle utilization and availability to support operational needs. Coordinate the allocation and dispatch of vehicles as required.
  2. Compliance and Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of vehicle registration, insurance, and inspections. Ensure the fleet complies with local, state, and federal regulations. Monitor driver compliance with company policies and safety standards.
  3. Cost Management: Track and manage fuel consumption, tolls, and other expenses to control costs. Identify opportunities for cost savings through route optimization, fuel efficiency, or procurement.
  4. Communication and Coordination: Serve as the point of contact for drivers, addressing their needs and resolving issues. Collaborate with other departments to align fleet operations with business objectives. Coordinate with vendors for leasing, maintenance, or purchase of vehicles.
  5. Technology and Reporting: Utilize fleet management software to track vehicle performance, maintenance schedules, and driver activity. Generate reports on fleet performance, costs, and other metrics for management review.
  6. Safety and Risk Management: Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure adherence to safety protocols. Manage incidents or accidents, including reporting, investigation, and insurance claims.
Qualifications:
  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in logistics, transportation, or business administration is a plus.
  2. Experience: Prior experience in fleet management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  3. Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in fleet management software and Microsoft Office tools. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair processes. Familiarity with transportation regulations and compliance. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Ability to manage and prioritize tasks under pressure. Analytical mindset to interpret data and optimize fleet performance. Strong interpersonal skills to manage relationships with drivers, vendors, and internal teams.
