Job Description: Infection Control Nurse Location: Sharjah, UAE Position Type: Full-Time Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Infection Control Nurse to join our healthcare team in Sharjah. The Infection Control Nurse will be responsible for overseeing and implementing infection prevention and control practices to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role requires strong knowledge of infection control protocols, the ability to monitor and assess healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), and provide staff education on best practices for infection prevention. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor infection prevention and control policies and procedures in line with international and local health standards.
- Conduct regular infection surveillance, monitor trends in healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), and report findings to the infection control committee.
- Assist in identifying, investigating, and controlling outbreaks of infections within the healthcare facility.
- Educate and train healthcare staff on infection prevention protocols, proper hand hygiene, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and other infection control measures.
- Conduct audits and inspections of clinical areas to ensure compliance with infection control guidelines.
- Provide guidance and recommendations to healthcare staff on the appropriate use of antibiotics to prevent antimicrobial resistance.
- Monitor sterilization and disinfection practices within the healthcare facility, ensuring the proper maintenance and cleaning of medical equipment.
- Ensure proper isolation procedures are followed for patients with infectious diseases.
- Collaborate with the microbiology department, physicians, and nursing teams to improve patient care and safety by minimizing infection risks.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of infection control-related staff training programs, workshops, and seminars.
- Keep up to date with the latest research and best practices in infection control and apply them in the workplace.
- Prepare infection control reports and statistics for senior management, regulatory bodies, and accreditation agencies.
- Participate in accreditation and regulatory inspections, ensuring that the healthcare facility meets all infection control standards.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent nursing qualification.
- Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the UAE or eligibility to obtain one.
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in nursing, with at least [X] years of experience in infection control.
- Strong knowledge of infection control practices, healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), and relevant legislation.
- Nursing: 1 year (Preferred)
