Partner with the best: As a Directional Driller, you'll run the operations of drilling sites using the latest technology. You'll have access to innovative equipment to effectively monitor our well-sites. You will troubleshoot problems and act quickly to ensure efficiency is maintained for our customers. As a Directional Driller, You Will Be Responsible For:

  • Providing instruction and supervision to junior field engineers on day-to-day well-site work and activities.
  • Communicating technical guidance and advice to customers and third-party well-site colleagues.
  • Solving often complex drilling problems by monitoring, analyzing, and evaluating incidents using logging and drilling data.
  • Following internal compliance and HSE standards to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Able to operate all of the surface and downhole directional drilling equipment, including all types of surveying tools as required by CONTRACT.
  • Able to effectively design bottom hole assemblies to drop or build angle at various degrees of severity.
  • Able to operate the onsite computer services equipment to meet all the requirements of the equipment.
  • Able to use the jet deflection method to kick off a well.
  • Capable of performing all normal rig site calculations associated with directional drilling and the use of CONTRACTOR-supplied computer hardware and software. This shall include all survey calculations, well to well clearance calculations, Ellipse of Uncertainty calculations, and well path projections.
  • Knowledge about COMPANY's requirements regarding well clearance and proximity based on the use of Ellipse of Uncertainty calculations.
  • Experience in providing Directional Drilling Services, including experience working with the adjustable bent housing, steerable motor assemblies, rotary steerable systems, and other relevant drilling tools used on the rig, in directional wells from multi-slot offshore platforms.
  • Experience with wells having over 65 degrees of wellbore inclination and ERD applications.

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma / GED.
  • Have rig drilling or directional drilling experience of +7 years gained in an oil and gas environment.
  • Qualified in accordance with Baker Hughes competency and training requirements.
  • Enjoy traveling to customer locations and being flexible to customer demands.
  • Show the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Show good problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and implement improvements.
  • Be a positive team player and show the ability to adapt in an ever-changing, dynamic environment.
  • Be fluent in English (oral and written) and have excellent all-round communication skills.
  • Capable of participating in risk assessments.
