As we continue to uphold our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher for our High School division to join our dynamic team immediately. Job Summary: As an English Teacher at our US curriculum school in Abu Dhabi, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous English language and literature instruction to high school students. You will foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment, inspire students to become effective communicators and critical thinkers, and contribute to their overall academic and personal growth. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality English language and literature lessons that align with the school's curriculum and educational objectives.
  2. Create engaging and differentiated learning experiences that cater to the diverse needs and learning styles of high school students.
  3. Utilize a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technology tools to enhance student engagement and facilitate active participation in learning.
  4. Assess student learning progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.
  5. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that promotes respect, collaboration, and a love for learning among students.
  6. Establish and maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues, providing regular updates on student progress, academic expectations, and classroom activities.
  7. Collaborate with fellow teachers and school administrators to develop and implement interdisciplinary projects, initiatives, and enrichment opportunities.
  8. Stay informed about current trends, best practices, and research in English language teaching and education, continuously seeking professional development opportunities to enhance teaching effectiveness.
  9. Participate in school-wide events, meetings, and professional development activities as required by the school administration.
  10. Uphold the school's policies, procedures, and code of conduct, promoting a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in English Literature, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  2. Valid teaching certification/license from a recognized authority (e.g., US teaching license, PGCE with QTS, etc.).
  3. Proven experience teaching English language and literature at the high school level, preferably in a US curriculum school setting.
  4. Excellent knowledge of the US Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts.
  5. Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
  6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to student-centered teaching, differentiated instruction, and the integration of technology in the classroom.
  8. Fluency in English (written and verbal); knowledge of Arabic or other languages is advantageous but not required.
  9. Flexibility, adaptability, and a growth mindset, with a willingness to contribute to the overall success and development of the school community.
