Our client, a dynamic fixed line operator in the Middle East, is searching for a Network Development Director. This role will be responsible for the development of the fiber networks (both Greenfield and Brownfield), management of vendors/contractors to ensure their compliance to SLAs and smooth transition of the network from build to operate.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Define Network Development Department strategy, plan and budget in line with Corporate Strategy.
  2. Overall responsibility to ensure that the network is deployed in accordance to the network plan and design while reflecting the constraints of the implementation and ensuring that costs are maintained within the agreed budget.
  3. Participate in the negotiations in the network related contacts with business partners/vendors.
  4. Develop tactical and operational plans for specific geographical area according to the advice of the “CO areas” implementation managers.
  5. This role reports to the COO and its direct reports are the Implementation Manager and the Vendors Manager.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Master’s degree preferably in Telecommunications Engineering or related field, with an MBA as an added advantage.
  2. Project Management Certification (e.g. PMI).
  3. Relevant telecoms engineering qualifications including CCNA, CCNP or equivalent internationally recognized certifications would be a plus.
  4. At least 10 years of progressive experience with at least 5 years in a senior management position within the telecommunications industry or related field.
  5. Must be a fluent English speaker – Arabic is advantageous but not essential.
