- Ensure that all kitchen and laundry equipment is properly maintained and serviced to avoid breakdowns.
- Perform preventive maintenance and complete the turn-over quickly and efficiently to satisfy Guest needs.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and be available in case of emergency, applying the appropriate action as per hotel policy and standards.
- Operate in a safe and environmentally friendly way to protect guests’ and colleagues’ health and safety, as well as conserve the environment.
- Comply with hotel environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
- Perform general repair and maintenance duties regarding laundry plumbing and electrical systems.
- Do elementary painting and finishing of furniture and structures.
- Check electrical systems such as refrigeration controls, television sets, and lighting systems, making minor repairs as needed.
- Check and make minor repairs on general plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipelines, toilets, and sinks.
- Perform basic maintenance and repair of laundry equipment using manuals and past history.
- Re-issue and exchange worn-out clothing.
- Maintain security measures by counting and making rounds through the laundry on a periodic basis.
- Ensure that no ironing or starching is done on unauthorized clothing.
- Ensure that the proper amount of cleaned clothing is returned to the delivering officer.
- Ensure that the building, as well as the outside area designated for laundry, is kept clean and secure.
