Electrical Maintenance Technician
Job details
Job Purpose Perform electrical maintenance tasks on safety and non-safety related Systems, Structures, and Components as prescribed to effectively maintain the plant and ensure high equipment reliability and performance. These tasks may include, but are not limited to, implementation of preventive maintenance activities, troubleshooting and investigations, electrical equipment repairs, and surveillance tests execution. Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability Activity: Electrical Maintenance Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Perform electrical maintenance activities to ensure all job tasks are performed in a timely manner and with quality to achieve operational readiness and to operate with the highest level of safety and reliability.
- Perform planned and corrective electrical maintenance activities and surveillances in accordance with the relevant procedures and processes on electrical plant systems and components to ensure appropriate functioning. This includes, amongst other:
- The Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) electrical equipment to include motors, motor generator sets, Reactor Coolant Pump (RCP) motors, Motor-Operated Valves (MOVs), crane and lighting, etc., to confirm appropriate function.
- The Balance Of Plant (BOP) electrical equipment including power transformers, Gas Insulated Bus (GIB), switchgear (SWGR), protective relays, electrical motors, main generator in diesel generator sets, uninterrupted power supply (UPS) systems, and MOVs.
- Perform proper and timely preparation and staging of maintenance work activities which includes the procurement submission of requests for equipment spare parts and special tools to ensure electrical maintenance activities are properly resourced.
- Attend pre- and post-job briefings and oversee maintenance teams performing tasks to ensure alignment with the maintenance standards and procedures in Nawah.
- Document equipment history reports following maintenance on systems, structures, and components to maintain an accurate history record.
- Conduct periodic and surveillance tests to confirm efficient plant electrical system performance or identify deficiencies.
- Update the equipment and material master data within the material management system to ensure accuracy of equipment and material specifications in the plant with those in the warehouse.
- Comply with Maintenance Code of Conduct procedures and guidelines to ensure the safety and reliability of the plant.
- Perform troubleshooting processes on the electrical systems and components to ensure issues are resolved correctly and in a timely manner.
- Ensure management expectations on the Conduct of Maintenance are implemented and adhered to.
- Provide training feedback on program effectiveness through evaluation of performance to ensure a high quality of training and qualification program.
- Support outage and/or the ERO, as assigned, to ensure safe, reliable, and continued operations; this may require shift work/off hours support.
- Provide input into the development of and implementation of work instructions, identifying opportunities for the continuous improvement of practices to increase productivity and operational efficiency.
- Ensure that all relative reports are prepared timely and accurately, to meet the Section's requirements and standards.
