Responsibilities The role involves the execution of duties to the highest possible standards. It is expected that the role will include but not be limited to the following key functions: Lead the tax regulatory compliance across the ME&A region, including timely filing of accurate tax and related returns (income tax, WHT, VAT, Country-by-Country reporting, Transfer Pricing submissions etc); Manage tax assessments, audits and inspections, and own the relationship with internal and external tax consultants; Lead the design and implementation of processes surrounding tax compliance, maintaining robust reconciliations and documentation to satisfy tax and finance regulatory requirements; Provide advice to the finance and non-finance business operations on tax-related queries and implications for new and ongoing client/supplier projects; Manage monthly, quarterly and annual reporting of tax numbers to corporate teams internally, and periodic tax budgeting/forecasting for internal reporting; Support the Director of Finance Controllership on ad-hoc initiatives and analysis; Develop strong working relationships with team members and other key stakeholders; Manage subordinates ensuring their career development and coaching. Technical Competencies Essential Fully Qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA/CPA or other recognised Accounting qualification; Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience, preferably in the ME&A region, with experience of working in a tax & compliance lead role for a construction/engineering consultancy organisation; Sound knowledge of ME&A tax regulations and requirements; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of other Microsoft Office tools; High standard of (numerical) presentation skills; Excellent communication in English (both written and oral). Experience of interacting with multiple businesses and finance functions; Experience of working within a multi-cultural environment; Desirable Working knowledge of JD Edwards and Oracle. Big 4 experience as a senior associate or above. Grasp over Arabic language will be an added advantage. Knowledge of Data Modelling, PowerPivot and PowerBI tools is an advantage. Cultural Awareness - Able to work within a diverse team and to engage all colleagues. Capable of intelligent debate - challenge colleagues in a constructive manner, communicate complexity clearly, avoid being abrasive or judgemental.
