Job Title: Truck-Mounted Crane Operator

Job Summary: The truck-mounted crane operator is responsible for safely operating a crane mounted on a truck chassis to lift, move, position, and load materials and equipment at various job sites. The operator must ensure that the crane and truck are maintained in good working order, adhere to safety regulations, and perform tasks efficiently to meet project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Crane Operation:
    1. Operate the truck-mounted crane to lift, move, and position loads according to project specifications.
    2. Use hand signals or radio communication to coordinate with ground personnel and other operators.
    3. Inspect crane equipment and truck components before and after use to ensure proper functioning.
    4. Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on the crane and truck.
  2. Safety and Compliance:
    1. Adhere to all safety protocols, regulations, and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
    2. Ensure that loads are secured properly and that lifting operations are conducted safely.
    3. Keep records of maintenance, inspections, and operational activities.
    4. Obtain and maintain any required certifications or licenses for crane operation and truck driving.
  3. Truck Operation:
    1. Drive the truck to and from job sites, ensuring safe travel and adherence to traffic regulations.
    2. Load and unload crane equipment and other tools as needed.
    3. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck.
  4. Documentation:
    1. Complete and maintain accurate records of crane operations, load charts, and other relevant documentation.
    2. Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or incidents to supervisors.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in operating truck-mounted cranes and related equipment.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations.
  • Good communication skills for coordinating with team members and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and minor repairs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Good vision and hand-eye coordination.
  • Comfort with working at heights and in various weather conditions.

Work Environment:
