They work on areas such as the effects of new developments on the environment, the control of pollution and noise, the effects of agriculture or recreation on plants and wildlife, the effect of climate change and waste management and recycling.Key ResponsibilitiesProject Management and Supervision: responsible for managing and executing environmental projects including overseeing environmental due diligence, site investigations, and remediation projects from inception to completion. expected to manage small projects or substantial portions of larger projects, ensuring that tasks are delegated and supervised accordingly.Technical Assessments and Reporting: conduct detailed technical assessments and prepare comprehensive reports involving field investigations, sampling, and monitoring activities, and responsible for preparing technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments, organizing data, validating findings, and preparing reports such as Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Due Care Plans, Construction Environmental Management Plan, and Response Activity Plans.Regulatory Compliance and Strategic Advice: providing strategic advice on regulatory compliance and environmental risk management, compliance with local, regional and international environmental regulations, including those related to hazardous materials management, chemical inventory, water, wastewater, solid waste, and air emissions.Client Engagement and Business Development: actively participate in client meetings and discussions, developing and maintaining client relationships where marketing efforts are involved. Job Requirements Educational Background: Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field such as Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related discipline.Professional Experience and Certification: minimum of three to four years of experience in the environmental, health, and safety field or consulting, mainly reporting. Professional certification or licensure within ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO64001, LEED, ESTIDAMA PQP, WELL, any additional certification is an added value.Technical and Analytical Skills: strong analytical skills and proficiency in environmental assessment methodologies. must be adept at using specialized software programs. should also have experience with the environmental due diligence process and conducting sample collection in soil, groundwater, soil gas, and air.Communication and Organizational Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for preparing reports and engaging with clients. Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously are also important.Work Environment and ConditionsOffice and Field Work: The role involves a mix of office-based work (majority) and fieldwork, spending time researching, preparing reports, analyzing laboratories tests, and conducting field surveys to collect data about pollution or contamination levels. The balance between office and fieldwork can vary depending on the project.
