Expert - BESS & Hybrid Solutions (HQ Role)Full-timeBusiness unit: Chief Operating OfficeMasdar is the UAE's clean energy champion and one of the largest companies of its kind in the world, advancing the development and deployment of renewable energy and green hydrogen technologies to address global sustainability challenges. Established in 2006, Masdar is today active in over 40 countries, helping them to achieve their clean energy objectives and advance sustainable development. Masdar is jointly owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala), and Abu Dhabi National Energy Company (TAQA), and under this ownership the company is targeting a renewable energy portfolio capacity of at least 100 gigawatts (GW) by 2030 and an annual green hydrogen production capacity of up to 1 million tonnes by the same year.To lead the engineering activities of utility-scale BESS technologies (alternative chemistries and services) and BESS hybrid solutions in Masdar in line with overall engineering plans and objectives.Responsibilities:BESS hybrid project design, performance and optimizationCreative design preparation and oversight of hybrid technology evolvement in the marketEPC contractor discussions and negotiationsContribution to stakeholder relationsCompliance with standards and formsPreparation of relevant updates and reportsCompliance with information security policies, procedures and requirements at all timesMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering or scienceMaster's Degree related in electrical/mechanical/chemical engineering or related fieldAt least 5 years of relevant work experience in BESS technologies and at least 3 years of experience in leading the technical stream of large scale BESS hybrid projects or equivalent experience.Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneouslyProficient in Hybrid simulation tool, and exposure to one of the following hybrid power plants simulation toolsEPC technical annex preparationMicrosoft Office, especially ExcelKnowledge of photovoltaic systems, battery energy storage systems and grid energy management systemsAbility to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucialMust be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
