Job Description
The Sustainability Engineer will be a key member of our construction team, responsible for integrating sustainable practices into all phases of our projects. He/She will work closely with project teams to implement environmentally friendly and resource-efficient solutions, ensuring compliance with local regulations and international sustainability standards. The Sustainability Engineer will drive initiatives that contribute to the company's commitment to environmental responsibility and social impact.Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
- Implement & monitor all Project Sustainability requirements and plan related processes/activities at the Project.
- Develop Sustainable Action LEED & Mostadam Plans.
- Review & approve Material Submittals to ensure compliance with Project Sustainability requirements.
- Coordinate with the Client, Consultants, relevant project members/subcontractors to ensure full implementation, and ensure the Project complies with all Project Sustainability requirements during Construction phase to achieve the targeted Sustainability rating.
- Gather, compile, and generate all the Sustainability related documentation/data required during Construction stage, from all the parties involved, for further submissions to the client or relevant authorities/certifying bodies.
- Prepare Sustainability reports, as required by the Project Stakeholders.
- Conduct appropriate inspections/site walks to ensure compliance with the Project Sustainability requirements i.e. CIAQ, Carbon reduction, Construction Waste Management, Soil & erosion Prevention, etc.
- Attend/lead Progress Meetings, Subcon Meetings, etc., as required for Project Sustainability aspects.
- Conduct frequent Workshops/Trainings for the Project Team to ensure awareness of Project Sustainability requirements.
- Implement an effective GHG emission reduction management system, ensuring that the project meets the targeted carbon reduction rate.
- Be the Subject Matter Expert for Sustainability related matters, guiding the Project team to consider value creation ideas, sustainable Solutions, and approaches that comply with the Project Sustainability requirements.
- Coordinate closely with technical, Procurement and Operations teams, to ensure the materials used and the construction approach aligns with the Project Sustainability requirements.
- Work closely with the Project Environmental Manager and the HSE team to ensure all Environmental Sustainability related measures are implemented to a high standard and in line with Project Sustainability requirements.
- Establish sustainable design goals and target green building credits with the design team.
- Daily supervision of the project’s design and construction stages: monitor and coordinate architectural, engineering, and construction firms’ documentation.
- Prepare green building submission packages, including reviewing calculations, drawings, etc., to ensure each credit is properly documented.
- Develop and manage project plans, letter templates, status reports, budgets, and timelines ensuring goals are met, and issues are highlighted early in the process.

- Stay informed on sustainability trends through continuous professional development.
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 5-8 years of professional experience in the Sustainability field in the GCC and a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in managing LEED v4/4.1 projects, and their documentation. Mostadam AP and LEED AP accredited professional are mandatory. Must be proficient in implementing Sustainability-related requirements (Carbon reduction, Energy reduction, Water reduction, etc.) in Construction operations. Must have in-depth knowledge of topics like GHG Emissions reduction, Embodied Carbon, Life Cycle Analysis, etc. Prior Experience in KSA is a plus. Fluent in English, Arabic is a plus. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint.Additional Information
