Overview

Northern Area Power Operation Department under Power Systems Organization is seeking an experienced Field Support Engineer whom has a wide ranging and specific knowledge of all aspects pertaining to equipment design, Operations and Maintenance (O&M), failure analysis and rehabilitation of substation equipment, such as power transformers, GIS, indoor and outdoor switchgear, battery, AC&DC UPS, etc. NAPOD is responsible for providing and managing highly technical and specialized engineering services to support the safe and reliable operation of Saudi Aramco electrical power system generation, transmission and distribution networks.

Duties & Responsibilities

Provide engineering expertise in support of field Operations and Maintenance (O&M) for all types of substation equipment serving mega-industrial facilities (Refineries, gas and oil processing plants, and power plants). Develop maintenance instructions and best practices for substation equipment testing and maintenance. Review and update equipment standards and specification, Conduct equipment reliability studies, Lead equipment incident investigation teams. Represent Saudi Aramco to investigate equipment failure, participate in qualification of HV equipment vendors, and participate in HV equipment FAT programs. Lead transformers in-house repair, condition assessment for aged equipment, and substation equipment major inspection and overhaul. Play key role in critical plants contingency program, substation equipment obsolesce program and Lead initiatives and technologies intended to enhance maintenance and operation practices. Mentor young and junior engineers in substation equipment O&M specialty as well conduct courses for engineers and technicians.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Preferably having Master's degree in engineering. Minimum of 10 years of solid experience in substation equipment design and application. Hands-on field experience in maintenance and operation, having worked for at least 5 years as a substation equipment professional. Have solid experience and knowledge in substation equipment design, manufacturing, testing, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting and repair as well as having wide knowledge in O&M new technologies. In-depth knowledge of international specifications, codes, and standards, with knowledge of engineering practices and economic principles, calculation methods and design details is required.
