The role holder will report to the EU & MENAT - Regional Head of Channels Transformation IT, part of the Wealth & Personal Banking Global Business structure within DBS. The Senior Product Manager – Channels Technology role is based out of Dubai and has responsibility for the delivery, on-going success, and continuous improvement of Channels Technology and BFCR (Business Financial Crime Risk) products. The product manager position involves regular interaction with senior stakeholders and therefore requires strong influencing skills and managerial awareness. This position is responsible for product management of key elements of BFCR (Business Financial Crime Risk) & Channels Technology systems to deliver distinctive value to all Channels across Digital, Staff, Branch and Mobile using current and future digital technical capabilities. Duties & Responsibilities: • Oversee the product planning, roadmap development, feasibility assessments, and high-level design of business systems or subsystems, technology projects and functions from a technical perspective • Collaborate with business, technical architecture and other stakeholders to identify product / customer requirements, assess impacts to other data and systems, consider available technologies, compare costs and benefits and recommend solutions, collaborating closely with the engineering team in building out new features. • Providing support in making and keeping the product a success by ensuring that it offers a strong value proposition to the customer and user and it creates the desired benefit • Providing support in delivering value to business, engaging with the customers to ensure the team is building the right product • Providing support in articulating the product vision of what is to be built, and convey the vision to the development team • Be aware of related industry trends, distilling this knowledge and sharing with wider team • Oversee execution of project delivery in respect to the achievement of the defined product roadmap and approved investment commitments • Understand the budget assigned and work with the programme to raise and control change, if necessary, through strong Change Management adherence • Working with project teams and senior stakeholders, collaborates and influences senior management stakeholders and business partners for all key programme plans, commitments, and changes • Acting as the Relationship Manager for IT and the business in terms of the Channels Technology and Compliance projects and objectives • Ensure consistent Software Engineering, Software Deployments and Architecture Compliance within the region for all Channels Technology and Compliance Systems, holding teams to the highest standards as per Region and Group requirements • Manage activities focused on the deployment of projects from requirements gathering, system design, quality assurance, cost control and implementation planning activities as well as post implementation activities • Assist in communication with stakeholders and resolve conflicting stakeholder priorities. • Collaborate with the team to showcase the product to stakeholders Requirements Experience & Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree is a must preferably within an IT discipline • Sound knowledge of HSBC IT systems with in-depth knowledge of Staff Channels, Compliance (BFCR) systems and underlying business processes • Exposure to all stages of the application development process, from specification & design, development & testing, through to implementation and production support • Aware and sensitive to regulatory, business, and operational risk • Proven ability to deliver regulatory initiative under pressure & tight deadlines; readiness to work extended hours. • Good knowledge of IT policies and practices combined with IT hardware, software, operations, and networks experience • Ability to develop cohesive working relationships with business partners • Find logical solutions to problems and manage to resolution • Excellent understanding of how technology adds value to the business and ultimately the end customer • Demonstrated ability to rapidly build relationships with key stakeholders • Ability to work in an unstructured and changing environment, competent at managing an ever-changing backlog and can pivot on strategy and priorities when business needs arise • Customer focused, results-based approach, able to deliver to deadlines • Excellent negotiation and diplomatic problem-solving skills to resolve issues across functional areas and between the organization and external parties • Excellent communication skills and an understanding of how to work with global teams to be effective across video conferencing, email, messaging, time zones • Ability to influence teams to think "outside" the box and look at solutions/approaches outside traditional comfort zones. • Able to broker agreement between IT and the business in a tactful and non-aggressive way. • Ability to question and reduce costs without impacting on quality of delivery • Strong interpersonal skills • Energetic, positive attitude and team player, having a sense of urgency and enthusiasm in developing a best-in-class product We support our staff to adopt flexible and alternative ways of working where possible, including working from home and different hours subject to approvals.
