Responsibilities:

  • To prepare all the RFPs requested by the client along with other disciplines and according to specialist which is rail/tracks.
  • Responsible for the review of all documentation and the quality of the prepared engineering plans, specification and shop drawings.
  • Reviews of construction/engineering methods, procedures, policies and ITP’s to ensure the Contractor is in compliance.
  • Confirm that the detailed design provided by the Design-Build contractor is in accordance with the Employer’s requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of Track work design, including CEN and UIC standard framework including to undertake design check.
  • Analyze and propose appropriate best-practice design solutions in such cases where the Design-Build contractor does not offer an adequate solution or submit sufficient detail.
  • Liaison with the site management to ensure effective co-ordination of the works with regards inspections and investigations.
  • Ensure safe practice is achieved in the design of the Track System.
  • Study of the New Rail Links for the stake holders and Preparation of Technical Reports and BOQ.
  • Review all the rail/tracks documents that will be received from the client/contractors.
  • Overseeing all the documents related to rail/tracks works of the client and providing technical views and opinion as consultant.
  • All the construction inspections and administrative/project personnel in rail that required by the client will be the responsibilities in core team if any.
  • Lead all the rail/tracks of the core team as Railway Engineer and work as part of the core team to ensure that the requirements of the client in rail/track are delivered.
  • Responsible of all rail/track works in the core team and in upcoming projects if any.
  • Checking & approving submittals by the contractors if any.
  • Perform the quality control measures that will be required.
  • Monitor the contractor’s work for compliance to schedule, budget, technical specifications, legal requirements.
  • Resolve design and field construction issues including thorough knowledge of construction specifications.
  • Ensure all the project’s deliverables are in conformance with the technical specification of the contracts.
  • Knowledge of international and local best practices and building codes in design and delivery of the upcoming railway projects if any.
  • Confident in client & contractors interfacing, managing and coordinating with the team of specialists.
  • Assist all the team members whether in core team or site teams with the range of other duties as may be required from time to time.
  • Coordination between various disciplines / contractors to ensure construction quality and design compliance.
  • Understanding of track work interfaces with other disciplines.
  • Be familiar with construction and installation methods.
  • Also responsible for the construction supervision of the renewal of track works right from the assembling of rail panels in assembly yard, its transportation to the site of work, dismantling of old track and laying of new track, ballasting, tamping, welding (CWR) and distressing, final tamping of newly laid track as per design of track profile.
Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Minimum 15 Years of Experience on Railway Projects.
  • Demonstrate advanced computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications: MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and knowledge.
  • Thorough knowledge of trackwork activities, based on construction, railway or transport experience.
  • Ability to work in a matrix organization and take best out track platform to support the project.
  • Significant experience on the railway related construction projects and projects management in a multi-cultural and multi-site environment.
  • Fluent in English, Arabic would be a strong asset.
