This role demands a dynamic and culturally astute individual who can navigate the diverse cultural needs of our university community and craft programs that foster understanding, appreciation, and participation in cultural experiences. The Cultural Activities Specialist will work closely with student organizations, academic departments, and external partners to ensure that the university remains a vibrant center for cultural exchange and learning.Responsibilities And DutiesProgram Development: Design, plan, and implement a diverse array of cultural activities, including but not limited to festivals, art exhibitions, workshops, lectures, and performances, that reflect the rich tapestry of cultures represented on campus.Collaboration and Engagement: Collaborate with student organizations, academic departments, and external cultural institutions to co-create and promote cultural programming that aligns with educational goals and enhances campus life.Diversity and Inclusion: Ensure that cultural programming is inclusive and represents the broad spectrum of cultures, identities, and perspectives present within the university community.Event Management: Oversee all logistical aspects of cultural events, including scheduling, venue booking, budget management, and coordination of technical and promotional needs.Community Outreach: Foster relationships with local, national, and international cultural organizations to enhance cultural offerings and opportunities for cultural exchange on campus.Assessment and Reporting: Evaluate the impact of cultural activities on campus life and report on participation, feedback, and outcomes to university leadership and stakeholders.Marketing and Communication: Develop and execute effective marketing strategies to promote cultural events and programs to the university community through various channels, including social media, campus newsletters, and the university website.Volunteer Coordination: Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and student workers involved in the execution of cultural events.QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Tourism and hotel, International Relations, or a related field.Experience in cultural programming, event planning, or related field, preferably within a higher education setting.Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.Proficiency in using social media and digital communication tools to engage audiences and promote events.Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate event schedules.Salary And BenefitsThe University is continuously expanding and its campus is situated in well-equipped new premises in north-central Riyadh.We offer a one-year renewable contract (renewable subject to Dean/Director and student evaluations) and a competitive salary package based on academic qualification, rank and teaching experience as stated above;Other benefits include: medical insurance coverage for the employee & dependents residing within the Kingdom, (spouse & 4 children below 24 years of age);Free, furnished accommodation plus essential utilities and maintenance will be provided subject to availability, OR the successful candidate will be provided a housing allowance based on academic rank.End-of-service yearly gratuity, which starts on the 2nd year of continuous service (if the candidate completed a minimum of 2 years.)About Prince Sultan UniversityPrince Sultan University is the first private university in Saudi Arabia to have been awarded ACCREDITATION by the NCAAA (National Commission for Assessment & Academic Accreditation).
