Sales Manager - Altitude Tours & BLACK ZQN

We are a locally owned and operated Queenstown tourism group that proudly runs two award-winning companies. Altitude Tours is a small group day tour company, taking people on incredible journeys to Milford Sound, Mt Cook, Glenorchy, Gibbston, Central Otago, and around Queenstown, and BLACK is Queenstown's premier luxury tour operator offering private touring in high-end vehicles.

Our current Sales and Marketing Manager is stepping out of the business in February 2024 and so we are in search of an accomplished tourism sales professional to join the team. They will be working alongside our local sales representative, marketing and business development team to continue the incredible work done to date.

As the Sales Manager, you will have a pivotal role in introducing and educating the tourism industry about our incredible products and contributing to the continued growth of our businesses. You will possess a deep understanding of the NZ tourism landscape, a proven track record in tourism sales and a strong industry network of contacts.

We are a fast paced company that is ever evolving and creating new experiences. Our ideal candidate will be an innovative and positive person, and instead of saying "that's how we've always done it", instead asks "how can we do this better?".

Key Attributes:

Has a strong understanding of the tourism distribution channels and how the industry works.

Has a positive and proven track record of working with NZ based inbound operators

Has relationships with Tourism NZ and TECNZ and has attended TRENZ

Is well versed in contracting and rate distribution

Excellent at product training presentations and sales negotiations

Can manage existing and find new business opportunities (agents, wholesalers and direct)

Embraces technology and, ideally, has experience using Rezdy

Is willing to travel for work and attend functions after business hours (NZ and Overseas)

Has experience with Mailchimp or similar EDM's systems

Understands OTA management and key contacts

Has experience working with luxury inbound operators and travel agencies

Proficient in sales reporting (sales channels performance and occupancy)

Is positive in nature and enjoys working with others
