Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the company's goals and objectives.
  2. Lead and oversee all aspects of the construction business, including project management, operations, finance, and business development.
  3. Provide strong leadership and guidance to the management team and ensure effective communication and collaboration across all departments.
  4. Drive business growth and development by identifying new opportunities, cultivating relationships with key stakeholders, and expanding the company's presence in the Middle East/Africa construction market.
  5. Ensure compliance with local regulations, health and safety standards, and industry best practices.
  6. Optimise operational processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  7. Monitor financial performance, prepare budgets, and make strategic decisions to maximise profitability and sustainability.
  8. Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement within the organisation.
  9. Represent the company in negotiations, meetings, and industry events to promote the company's interests and enhance its reputation.
  10. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and partners to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a General Manager or similar executive leadership role in the construction industry, with a minimum of 20 years of relevant experience.
  2. Previous experience working in main contracting, MEP contracting, Fit-out, joinery or stone sectors.
  3. In-depth knowledge of the Middle East construction market, including industry trends, regulations, and key players.
  4. Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and a demonstrated ability to drive business growth and profitability.
  5. Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
  6. Solid understanding of project management, financial management, and operational best practices within the construction sector.
  7. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  8. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree or MBA would be an advantage.
  9. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget.
  10. Fluency in English and Arabic is required, with a strong preference for candidates with prior experience working in the country.
