Manage and lead the Branch effectively to ensure the achievement of targets and business development objectives, while adhering to the Company's policies and guidelines and maintaining high quality customer services Accountabilities: Planning · Contribute to the development of objectives, revenue and cost budgets and profit targets for the Branch in consultation and agreement with VP – Distribution Channels. · Develop effective plans to manage client relationships, anticipate client needs and provide tailored solutions to position aafaq’s as the market leader in Islamic finance in the UAE. · Identify targeted corporate clients in the assigned Emirate and the potential Islamic products and services which might be offered to them in order to establish a basis for potential corporate business. · Study the market and client needs in the assigned Emirate in conjunction with the Marketing and Strategy and Performance Departments in order to prepare a suitable business plan. Branch Operations · Manage and control daily branch operations and staff leave and training schedules and ensure employee satisfaction and timely resolution of any challenges. · Review all corporate and retail finance requests ensuring minimum risk exposure and maximum profitability and enter all transactions in the Finacle system for approval. · Review customer complaints, approaching the complainant personally if required to ensure prompt resolution of the problem. · Provide personalised and professional service to foster the development and maintenance of a quality portfolio of corporate and high net worth customers in coordination with the Corporate and Retail Finance sections. · Ensure that risk management, cost control, audit compliance, internal and external reporting obligations are in line with Company policy and UAE Central Bank guidelines, to ensure high standards of uniformity and consistency across aafaq. · Assess the infrastructure requirement and facilities for the Branch, make recommendations for improvements and obtain approval to ensure the Branch is equipped to operate efficiently. Management · Set and agree individual and team objectives and targets as well as branch marketing and business development plans to support the achievement of the Branch's overall objectives. · Meet monthly with the Customer Service Representatives and Customer Service Officers and obtain their feedback regarding gaps and or weaknesses affecting the business, analyse variances of the actual and projected financial figures and provide any support needed and effective corrective measures. · Review the performance of staff members periodically and monitor progress to ensure that targets are met or exceeded to foster a high-performance culture. · Guide, direct, develop, motivate and manage the performance of all direct reports, including performance evaluations and appraisals, in line with the Performance Management System to assist in the realisation of their potential and to enhance their knowledge-based skills. · Ascertain the developmental needs of staff members and take appropriate action to assist in the realisation of their potential and to enhance their knowledge-based skills. · Ensure that all staff members are well trained and fully aware of products, policies, procedures and practices so that they can deliver high level quality customer service in line with aafaq’s established standards. Business Development · Establish good relationships with key potential corporate clients, high net worth customers and other banks and financial institutions that are critical to present and future business, and subsequently develop these into successful, ongoing business relationships. · Obtain information regularly about existing as well as prospective corporate finance clients from various internal and external sources and use any credit data and financial statements to evaluate the degree of risk involved in lending to them. · Prepare a selective list of prospects to be targeted and ensure a well-spread portfolio across many sectors and update it on a regular basis. · Coordinate calling programmes to identified corporate clients and high net worth customers and where appropriate participate in them to develop and grow the corporate finance business. · Negotiate corporate transactions on behalf of aafaq, ensuring the Company's interests are protected and enhanced as much as possible. · Establish effective networking information channels with government and semi-government organisations in the assigned Emirate to have early information on potential business opportunities. Marketing · Implement appropriate publicity and promotions endeavours with Marketing support to establish an identity in the market and with the right banks and financial institutions ensuring the projection of a uniform and cohesive image of aafaq in providing Islamic financial products and services in the assigned Emirate. · Assess the impact and cost-effectiveness of aafaq promotional materials and marketing activities and suggest improvements as appropriate. · Support the aafaq’s marketing efforts to evaluate, develop, launch and promote new Islamic products and services in the assigned Emirate. Represent aafaq in the community to promote its image, enhance its reputation and optimise business opportunities. Education/Qualification Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Management or Finance or any relevant commercial discipline or professional qualification in Marketing or Finance. MBA would be an advantage. Experience A minimum of 8 years’ relevant work experience in banking or financial institutions of which a minimum of 5 years in a senior role handling independent responsibility for a specific area or leading a Corporate or Retail Finance team Skills
