Overview

Aramco is seeking an English and Arabic Technology Writer to join the Technology Communications & Outreach team (TCO) within its Technology Oversight & Coordination organization (TOC). TCO communicates TOC's mission to attain global leadership in energy-related technology, support the creation of a flourishing knowledge economy in the Kingdom, and deliver commercially viable technology options to attain recognition as a leader in the development of energy and chemicals technology.

TCO develops and communicates technology messages across various channels (in digital, social and print) for the downstream and strategic research domains, for both internal and external audiences.

The Arabic and English Technology Writer primary role is to provide specialist knowledge and skills for the creation of content and translation of English content within the technology organizations and domains across Aramco's operations; and to analyze detailed and technical information, strategies, programs and technologies, and provide accurate and impactful material for dissemination throughout Aramco. The writer will liaison with Directors, Chief Technologists, Managers, and Stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

You will be required to perform the following:

Prepare technology content on all the existing and upcoming research programs (heavy focus on sustainable and flagship critical business areas) and the technologies within them, for use in the company's communications channels and the department's reports and strategies, as well as for delivery throughout TOC.

Interview subject matter experts, industry experts, and leadership for articles, newsletter, magazine, press releases, speeches and website content in Arabic.

Formulate technical responses, in conjunction with the Technology Communications function, in any necessary engagement with external stakeholders, such as: partners, analysts, consumers and general public.

Respond to Ministry requests in formal Arabic.

Write and edit material for publication in the department's annual, bi-annual, quarterly and monthly reports, committees, dialogues and forums.

Produce special articles that focus on technology and research science for company periodicals, and industry publications such as the Dimensions online magazine and the Journal of Technology.

Prepare special reports and proposals for presentation by department managers or chief technologists and for use at meetings with shareholder representatives.

Investigate and seek to implement new writing and content generation techniques and potential programs.

Provide English and Arabic content; and edit presentations, reports, weekly highlights, proofread reports, abstracts, patents and other technical and scientific proofs in detail.

Produce high quality content for multiple communication channels and audiences; i.e. sustainable and flagship technology communications packages, presentations, publications, speeches, scripts, marketing, web, and social media platforms.

Develop a thorough understanding of the company's and TOC's communications channels, needs, and the unique attributes of a research organization.

Communicate with scientists, engineers, division leaders, commercial experts, and management to become familiar with business strategies and research projects, to ensure alignment within the department and administrative area, as well as towards Aramco's business goals when communicating to various audiences and/or stakeholders.

Develop communication content (speeches, key notes, articles, audio-visual content) for use in stakeholder platforms and international forums related to climate change, energy, environmental stewardship, etc.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate, you will have Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or related field. An advanced degree is preferred. You will have 10 years' experience in journalism, press or related fields, with proven content generation in technical fields.

Highest command of oral and written Arabic; proficiency in English is required.

Must be able to translate articles and other materials from English to Arabic and create original content in Arabic.

The knowledge of Company operations, policies, and challenges, with the ability to present the corporate image, would be beneficial. However, previous experience in a similar organization, with proven content generation in technical fields will also be considered.

Proficiency in using print and editing software.

Good team player but can also work independently.

Able to write in explanatory, technical and storytelling styles for multiple audiences.

Create technical briefs and press releases.
