Overview

We are seeking a Corrosion Specialist to join the Materials & Corrosion Services Division of Research & Analytical Services Department.

The Materials & Corrosion Services Division is responsible for providing Corrosion and Scales Chemicals evaluation, Electrochemical Investigation, Hydrate Inhibition Evaluation, Top of Line Corrosion (TOLC).

The Corrosion Specialist primary role is to be a driving force in contributing to sustain Saudi Aramco as a reliable global energy supplier.

Key Responsibilities

Carryout original laboratory testing and investigation studies on Corrosion evaluation, and oilfield chemicals assessment.

Determine root causes and recommend corrosion management and mitigation approaches

Design new innovative laboratory methods and experimental setups to simulate unique field situations.

Lead and deploy new technologies related to corrosion and materials to enhance field operations.

Identify new laboratory requirements and detailed specifications of the needed equipment, tools and materials to enhance expand the current capabilities.

Practice project management tools in setting project objectives, detailing the experimental scope, managing the requested fund, and build effective teams to enhance the technical and professional skills of junior staff.

Design, execute, analyze, and interpret the generated experimental data in order to understand materials behavior in sweet and sour environments under field simulated conditions and recommend corrosion management and mitigation approaches.

Work as a part of multi-disciplinary teams, providing advice on laboratory experimental techniques that might reflected in the Company Engineering Standards or Best Practices.

Contribute in the Center intellectual capital by submitting journal publications, patents, and technical reports.

Minimum Requirements

Ph.D., degree in Materials Science and Engineering

Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in corrosion & materials science including electrochemistry, corrosion inhibitor evaluation, top of line corrosion, corrosion monitoring.

Strong knowledge of laboratory practices and in-situ testing, materials degradations, oil field chemical assessment.

Fifteen years of experience in corrosion field.

Track records of work experience in research or industrial firms in carrying out original corrosion and, providing root cause and corrective action based on laboratory experimental data, developing and deploying new techniques and technologies

Contributions in the scientific domain by publishing journal papers, patents, and active membership in professional societies

Membership in corrosion related international committees and technical forums
