We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.Job PurposeAs an expert in his discipline, the incumbent provides a high level of professional expertise, guidance and training in his area of specialization in the resolution of complex problems relating to facility design and operations.ResponsibilitiesA. Carries out original investigative short-term applied industrial research studies to resolve urgent, complex and unique technical problems for which relevant published literature is lacking. B. Provides consulting interaction with other departments and with US Companies' representatives on matters relating to his area of expertise. C. Conducts information seminars and technical presentations in areas of his principal contacts to report on studies or other areas relating to his expertise. D. Develops ideas for potential improvements in exploration, producing operations and processes. Details course of study and research for justification to Manager. E. Directs, guides and counsels others assigned to assist him. Trains new specialists. F. Keeps current on new developments in his held of expertise. Actively participates in work of technical societies (e.g., SPE, ASTM, ACS). G. Maintains and updates his knowledge of applications of relevant new research instrumentation. Advises management on merits of advanced instruments for use in advanced investigative programs. H. Recommends management action to be taken as a result of his work for the purpose of solving or preventing operational problems. I. Performs other miscellaneous related duties as requested.Education & Experience RequirementsA. B.S. Degree in a Science/Engineering Discipline. B. Typically has twelve (12) years of professional experience including at least five (5) years as a specialist with full responsibility for major technical work in his field. Is recognized both by management and colleagues as an expert in his field. C. Incumbent will have achieved substantial industry recognition in his area of expertise.
