Job details

Aramco energizes the world economy.

Aramco occupies a unique position in the global energy industry. We are the world's largest producer of hydrocarbons (oil and gas), with the lowest upstream carbon intensity of any major producer.

With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a commitment to enhance Aramco's value to society.

Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the world, we combine market discipline with a generations' spanning view of the future, born of our nine decades experience as responsible stewards of the Kingdom's vast hydrocarbon resources. This responsibility has driven us to deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom, but also to a vast number of communities, economies, and countries that rely on the vital and reliable energy that we supply.

We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst the top five global companies by market capitalization.

The Non-metallic Applications Development division is responsible for conducting cutting-edge research activities to disrupt the Non-metallic businesses and enable further adoption of carbon materials at a global level. The division is aiming at the development of innovative technologies able to create more demand on Carbon and associated composites in 5 main sectors (Oil & Gas, Building & Construction, Automotive, Renewables and Packaging)

Key Responsibilities

The candidate's primary role is to develop and implement new research programs focusing on cost effective carbon-based technologies for multiple applications including, but not limited to, batteries and building materials.

The candidate's role also includes establishing partnerships with national/international organizations to advance the technology development and ensure effective commercialization of the developed technologies.

The candidate will be required to work closely with internal teams as well as research organizations and manufacturers to identify technical gaps/challenges that hinder a vast penetration of specialty carbon materials in the targeted applications.

This will include, but not limited to, conducting technical feasibility studies, designing R&D strategies targeting the development of processes to produce specialty carbon materials and associated composites, launching research projects, leading lab technician(s) and junior scientists and engaging with external partners to advance the technology readiness level of the targeted developments. Moreover, the candidate will be also responsible for project planning/execution and data analysis as well as liaising with stakeholders to ensure seamless integration with the ongoing effort associated with the Non-metallic and Advanced Materials initiatives in the company.

Moreover, as an expert in this field, it is expected to train young scientists/engineers, while keeping abreast with the engineering and scientific developments of carbon materials manufacturing and their applications using a variety of precursors, conventional/advanced manufacturing processes and design methodologies.

Minimum Requirements
