As the research and analysis division of the Economist Group, The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) helps businesses and organisations prepare for opportunity, empowering them to act with confidence when making strategic decisions. The EIU is the global standard in providing quality, actionable intelligence to the public and private sector, assessing issues that impact the marketplace for over 200 countries. We are looking to recruit a senior analyst to help lead our analytical coverage and forecasting of the region. In The Role You Would Be Expected To Be an intellectual leader within the regional team, providing analysis and insight on major countries in the region. Ensure quality standards for EIU products and services are met at all times, demonstrating strong editorial judgment. Promote our work externally and internally, liaising with clients and media organizations on behalf of The EIU. Contribute to the commercial success of the EIU through value-creation for clients. Provide strategic insights and input for developing EIU products and services. Collaborate with other senior staff to support new business development and implement divisional strategy. Implement training and onboarding strategies to enhance team skills. Mentor analysts and research analysts to develop macroeconomic and forecasting skills. Manage External Contributors Responsible for finding and commissioning external contributors for analysis of political and economic events within the countries of responsibility. To Succeed In The Role You Must Have At least 4-5 years of experience in senior positions or demonstrable equivalent experience. Thorough understanding of macroeconomic data and forecasting techniques. In-depth regional knowledge of politics, economics, and policy. Excellent written and oral communication skills. A Master’s degree in a relevant subject. Relevant language skills (Arabic) are an advantage. Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, Access, and Power Point.
