The hotel's beachfront location and open-air facilities are designed to bring a new level of relaxed luxury to the city.About the job Based at Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai, within the Tasca Kitchen, the Commis 2 will carry out all required operational tasks and duties in the kitchen under the guidance of the respective Senior Chefs, with the overall objective to prepare food in a timely manner as per quality and food safety standards.As a Commis 2, you will be responsible for the following duties: Washes and peels ingredients to be used in the production of dishes.Ensure that all mise en place is prepared to the highest quality as per standards set by superiors.Ensure the setup and replenishment of buffets.Assist superiors in requisition pickup and organization in storage.Inform superiors of ingredient quantities when stock levels are low to ensure availability for daily use.Store ingredients in dedicated containers, ensuring proper preservation and labeling according to standards.Cleans and sanitizes working surfaces, tools, utensils, and the working area before and after use, following food safety standards.Report cleanliness and maintenance issues in kitchens and stewarding areas to superiors and support daily checks.Adhere to strict personal hygiene standards at all times.Follow food safety standards set by Mandarin Oriental Hotel and comply with UAE regulations.Ensure customer satisfaction in accordance with MOHG Legendary Quality Experiences (LQEs), MOHG Pillars, and service standards of MOQA.Work as part of the team and assist colleagues as needed.Support other outlets and banquets if requested by superiors.Attend and participate in scheduled meetings and training.Perform any other duties as required by superiors.As a Commis 2, we expect from you: High School qualification or equivalent.Degree or Higher National Diploma in Hospitality/Culinary Arts is preferred.Minimum 1 year of culinary experience as Commis 1 & 2 in a high-volume hotel or restaurant is preferred.Basic experience in food preparation and handling.Ability to work long hours with a focus on operational excellence.Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 15 kg without assistance.Basic knowledge of kitchen tools and utensils.Knowledge of basic food hygiene is preferred.Our commitment to you Learning & Development: We craft unique learning programs to support your career growth.MOstay: Enjoy complimentary nights and attractive rates on rooms for you and your loved ones through our MOstay program.Health & Colleague Wellness: We offer various health benefits and wellness programs to support your wellbeing.We’re Fans.
