This role involves managing day-to-day line activities, maintaining quality standards, and meeting production targets. The Assembly Line Leader works closely with the Assembly Shop Manager to support overall production goals and improve processes.Responsibilities1.Production Management Supervise daily operations of the assembly line to ensure production schedules are met.Assign tasks and responsibilities to assembly line workers.Monitor the assembly line to ensure efficiency and productivity.Ensure all assembly activities are performed according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.2.Quality Control Implement and enforce quality control standards and procedures on the assembly line.Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure product quality.Address and resolve any quality issues promptly to maintain high standards.Collaborate with the quality assurance team to implement continuous improvement initiatives.3.Process Optimization Identify opportunities to improve assembly processes and reduce waste.Implement lean manufacturing techniques and other efficiency improvements.Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and develop solutions.Optimize assembly line operations to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.4.Team Leadership and Development Lead, coach, and mentor assembly line workers to enhance performance and productivity.Develop and implement training programs for assembly line staff.Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.Foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability within the team.5.Safety and Compliance Ensure all assembly activities comply with health and safety regulations and company policies.Develop and implement safety policies and procedures.Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions for staff.6.Resource Management Manage the allocation of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment for the assembly line.Ensure the availability of necessary materials and components for production runs.Coordinate with the procurement team to manage inventory levels.7.Collaboration and Communication Collaborate with other departments, such as R&D, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain, to ensure alignment on production goals.Communicate assembly line plans and performance metrics to the Assembly Shop Manager and other stakeholders.8.Documentation and Reporting Maintain accurate and up-to-date assembly line records and documentation.Educational Background High school diploma or equivalent.
